Privacy Policy
Last updated: 13 October 2026
Radix DICOM ("the app") is built by a solo developer. This policy explains what data the app handles and why.
What the app does NOT collect
The app does not collect, transmit, or store any of the following:
- No personal information. No name, email, phone number, or account credentials. There are no accounts.
- No protected health information (PHI). DICOM files you open remain entirely on your device. The app never uploads, shares, or transmits pixel data, metadata, or any DICOM content to any server.
- No advertising. No ad SDKs, no ad networks, no tracking pixels.
- No device identifiers. No access to Advertising ID, IMEI, MAC address, or any persistent device identifier.
- No location data. No GPS, coarse location, or IP-based geolocation.
- No crash reporting SDK. No Sentry, Crashlytics, or equivalent.
What stays on your device
- DICOM files you open are copied to a local app cache directory for decoding. This cache is wiped when you close the file or the app.
- A list of recently opened files (patient name, study and series descriptions and identifiers, modality, dimensions, file path) is stored locally: in the app's preferences on Android, and in the app's cache folder on iOS. It is not included in device backups. This list never leaves your device and is deleted when you uninstall the app.
- To count your free studies, the app stores the identifiers of the studies you have opened for free, whether this installation predates the paid unlock, and whether you have bought the unlock. These identifiers are derived from the studies and contain no names or dates. This information stays on your device and is deleted when you uninstall the app. On Android it is not included in device backups; on iOS it is part of the app's standard device backup.
- Theme preference (dark/light) is stored locally.
Third-party services
The app offers one optional in-app purchase: a one-time unlock. Payments are processed by the store you installed the app from: Google Play Billing through your Google account on Android, or Apple In-App Purchase through your Apple Account on iOS. The app itself never receives, stores, or processes your payment details. See Google's Privacy Policy and Apple's Privacy Policy for how each store handles payment data.
Purchases are verified and restored through RevenueCat, a purchase-management service. RevenueCat receives your purchase history for this app (which product was bought, its price and currency, the store country, and the store's purchase token and transaction identifiers), linked to a random identifier the app creates. RevenueCat does not receive your name, email address, device identifiers, advertising identifiers, location, or any DICOM or patient data. This data is used only to confirm and restore your unlock and to show the developer aggregate purchase statistics. To have your purchase record deleted, email the address under Contact below. See RevenueCat's Privacy Policy.
The app uses Aptabase, a privacy-first analytics service, to record anonymous usage events (e.g. app opened, a DICOM file was opened and its modality, which viewer features were used, and bucketed technical results such as file type, MIME category, or failure reason). These events contain no patient data, no file content, no file names, no file paths, no raw error text, and no device identifiers — Aptabase does not use cookies or persistent identifiers to track users across sessions. See Aptabase's Privacy Policy for details.
No other third-party services are used.
Children's privacy
This app is not directed at children under 13. It is a professional medical imaging tool.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be linked from the store listing and from within the app.
Deleting your data
- Data on your device (recent files, free-study count, preferences): clear the app's storage in Android settings, or uninstall the app (Android or iOS).
- Analytics: usage events are anonymous and carry no identifier, so they cannot be tied to you and cannot be looked up for deletion.
- Purchase record: email the address under Contact below and it will be deleted in RevenueCat (customer deletion). Google Play or the App Store keeps its own order record under that store's policy.

Data safety (Google Play Console)
This section maps to the Play Console Data Safety form. For the iOS app, the same answers appear as the App Privacy labels on its App Store page.

|---|---|
| Data collected | App activity (app interactions), anonymised, for analytics; Financial info (purchase history), only if you buy the unlock |
| Data shared | None |
| Purchase history | Collected through RevenueCat as a service provider (not shared); not processed ephemerally; required for buyers; purposes: app functionality and analytics; used only to unlock the app and restore your purchase |
| Data types | App interactions (feature usage events) — not linked to identity, not processed ephemerally (Aptabase stores events for the dashboard), collection is required (no in-app opt-out) |
| Encryption | Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS) |
| Deletion | Users can request deletion; see Deleting your data |
This app declares "Data is collected" (app interactions; purchase history for buyers) and "Data is not shared" with third parties.
